Excursion

Excursion (22nd July 2023)

Due to the weather forecast, our original idea of a hike in the Peak District has been cancelled. Instead, we will be visiting Kelham Island museum. 

10:15 - 10:30, Meet outside the School of Mathematics and Statistics (Hicks Building) to collect packed lunch.
10:30, walk to the museum
11:00 - 12:30, explore the museum
12:30 - 13:30, lunch break
13:30 - 15:00, further exploration of the museum
15:00 - 17:30, Free Time to explore Sheffield and
17:30 - 19:00, Dinner (Interval.)

As this is a walking based excursion (indoors) but the weather on the day may be rather wet, please bring
- Suitable footwear
- Rain jacket
- Comfortable bag
- Water (bottle)
- Allergy medication if needed
We hope there will be, in addition to attendees, 5-10 members of the school in attendance.

Free Time Suggestions

There are a number of different options for students to do during their free time on Saturday afternoon (and Sunday.) Some suggestions include:

a) Botanical gardens  
b) Board Game cafe (short walk from town centre)
c) Jump Inc (a short tram (Yellow, to Medowhall Interchange, followed by short walk)
d) Lazer Tag (a short tram (Yellow, to Vally Centertainment)
e) Cinema (The Light, a short walk from the town centre)
f) Video Game Museum (£11 entry but there is a group discount for prebooked groups. In the city centre.)
