LMS Summer School 2023: Catering
The majority of your meals for the duration of the summer school have been taken care of by the organisers. These are detailed as best we can below. All outlets are located in or very close to the Students' Union building, next to the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
Refreshment breaks
There will be a refreshment breaks in mid morning (10:00-10:30) and in the afternoon (15:30-16:00) in both weeks, Monday to Friday.
Refreshments will take the form of an assortment of teas, various coffees, and biscuits. We have ensured that there are items which adhere to dietary restrictions - though you should check packaging accordingly.
We will also provide a reusable water cup for students to use throughout the summer school.
Breakfast
We have not organised breakfast, students should sort this out themselves, should they wish. We have been told that there are pastries available to pick up at the accommodation. Please ensure you check any items if you have any dietary restrictions.
There will be coffee/ tea facilities for students to help themselves to upon arrival in the mornings.
Lunch
The welcome lunch on Sunday 16th July will be held in Interval Kitchen and Bar between 12:30-14:00.
There will be a lunch breaks each day (12:30-13:30) in both weeks, Monday to Friday. Students will be issued with a booklet of ten vouchers (one for each of the ten weekdays) to use at any the following Students' Union venues:
Students' Union shop (meal deal.)
Coffee Revolutions (coffee shop.)
Proper Pasty Company (Pasty's.)
Interval Bar and Kitchen.
Each voucher has a face value of £5. If your lunch comes to a value greater than £5, students should pay the difference. Please ensure you check your meal if you have any dietary restrictions.
The mid week (Saturday 22nd July) excursion lunch will be of the form of a packed lunch. More details on the Excursion page.
Lunch on Sunday 23rd July has not been arranged. We encourage students to explore Sheffield and source their own meals on this day.
Dinner
Dinner has been organised from 17:30-19:00 in Interval Bar and Kitchen on the following days:
Welcome day, 16th July.
Week 1, 17th - 21st July.
Excursion Day, 22nd July.
Week 2, 24th - 28th July.
All dietary restrictions we were made aware of during the registration form have been passed on to the chef.
